About
A small press with a literary and philosophical catalogue.
Pending Press publishes works of literature and social criticism. Later we hope to branch out into translating poetry from and into English with the journal Pending Poetry International.
The picture on the homepage of our website is that of the symbol of the early Industrial Revolution: Ironbridge, the first bridge made of steel. This is an appropriate image for our publishing aspiration: to build bridges between the individual and the community, from the past into the future, and from the industrial to the post-industrial society characterized not by exploitation but cooperation between humanity and nature in harmony with the organic and fair-trading ideals.
The company is based not many miles from Ironbridge itself in Shropshire, a county situated between the industrial Midlands and the wilder mountains, hills and valleys of Wales.
